We would love you to come and stay with us in our friendly, family-run 3-star guest house in Ballachulish, Glencoe. Set amid some of the most beautiful scenery on the whole of the British Isles, you’ll find a warm welcome, and a warm comfortable bed, waiting for you at Strathassynt Guest House. And in the morning you’ll fill up on our great breakfast before heading out for the day to explore the spectacular mountains (many of which are Munros), lochs and glens surrounding us.
Located in the historic village of Ballachulish on the banks of Loch Leven in the West Highlands of Scotland, less than a mile from the atmospheric Glencoe, site of the infamous massacre, there’s more breath-taking landscapes and history in the area than you can shake a stick at. Situated on the main A82 route from Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Stirling to Fort William, Oban, the Isle of Skye, the Isle of Mull, and on to The Great Glen, Loch Ness with its world famous monster, and Inverness, Ballachulish, near Glencoe is the perfect location to explore this incredible area.
We offer bed and breakfast accommodation with great beds and a full breakfast. We have double rooms, twin rooms, a triple room and a family room that sleeps up to five. All our rooms have ensuite shower rooms, TV and DVD, and tea and coffee making facilities. We also have a homey and comfortable guest lounge with a DVD library, a stack of games, and loads of information on the area. We’ve a drying room if you got caught in the rain, and a bicycle shed. And we’re family friendly, welcoming kids of all ages, and we have cots, highchairs and listening devices for the very young.
For evening meals and refreshments, we have the Laroch Bar and Restaurant with its Michelin Starred chef right across the road, and the Ilses of Glencoe Hotel a few minutes’ walk away. And there is a host of fine eateries within a few minutes’ drive, including our favourite, The Loch Leven Seafood Cafe. (See our food and drink page in Out and About for more information).
This is the perfect place for hikers, hillwalkers, cyclists, extreme sport enthusiasts, golfers, whisky aficionados, skiers, mountaineers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all varieties, all of whom are catered for in the area (see Out and About, Activities). It’s also the perfect location for those who just want to escape the madding crowd and do a little soul-recharging in the peace and quiet of this beautiful land.
So comes stay with us! We are waiting to welcome you!
