Prices quoted above are based on two people sharing a double or twin room, with lower prices per person for a family room or triple room. Single occupancy discounts are available depending on season and availability.
By making a booking with us, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions, and to abide by our house rules.
A nonrefundable deposit of 20% of the booking total will be taken at the time of booking, or shortly after. The balance is due on arrival.
We are a small business operating in a fairly short season, so cancellations have a big impact upon us. And as most people book well in advance when visiting the area, it’s very unlikely we can resell rooms if they are cancelled at short notice. With this in mind, we have to implement the following cancellation policy.
If you cancel your booking within 3 days of the date of arrival, or you do not show up, the full cost of your stay will be due. In the event of a booking reduction (after arrival) the full cost of the booking is charged.
Full payment is due if you cancel within 30 days of the date of arrival.
We strive to ensure all guests enjoy their stay with us, and we’ll do everything we can to make sure your time here is comfortable and enjoyable. All we ask in return is that your respect our home and other guests. Strathassynt is a family run guest house and all the work is done by our little team, and we kindly ask that you bear this in mind during your stay. This is not a hotel, it is our home. While we warmly welcome guests into our home, we do expect them to respect it.
With the comfort of all guests in mind, we kindly ask that you keep noise to a minimum later in the evenings.
Check in is from 4pm, and check out by 10am (we need to get the rooms cleaned for the next guests, and get out to stock up on provisions). We can accept check in earlier if notified in advance, and you will always be welcome to drop your bags if arriving in the area before 4pm.
Full breakfast is served between 8am and 9am. A lighter breakfast can be arranged for early departures.
Moving furniture in the rooms is not allowed as it causes damage to the carpets, walls and the furniture itself.
Washing and/or drying clothes in the rooms is strictly forbidden. We have a drying room for your boots and hiking gear, and we offer a laundry service should you need clothes washed and dried.
Hiking boots and sticks must be left downstairs and are not allowed in the rooms under any circumstances. Wet hiking gear such as jackets, rucksacks, rucksack covers, waterproofs etc is not allowed in the rooms, and must be given to us to go in the drying room (which is the best place to make sure it all dry for the following day).
Breakages, spillages or damage of any kind should be reported immediately, and paid for. We reserve the right to charge for breakages or damage caused by guests, and for additional cleaning if required.
Pets are not allowed in the guest house. We allow pets in the cottage, but have some additional rules which we provide on request.
Smoking is not allowed in the guest house or cottage, but we have smoking areas externally.
Carry out food is not allowed in the rooms, but can be eaten in the guest lounge.
In the very unlikely event that we need to cancel any bookings, we will refund any money paid and assist where ever possible in finding alternative accommodation. We will not be liable for any losses or expenses that may occur because of cancellation.
